Daniel Ray Brewster
Daniel Ray Brewster

A tattoo is body art that you wear for life.
We will design your tattoo as many times as you like until you are satisfied with it. I have had experiences in the past with procedures that I was not satisfied with and I don’t want you to have the same experience.
We believe in respecting the needs of each and every customer, and we do so with a strong determination to create a one-of-a-kind piece of work that you will never regret.

Biography

Born in South Carolina, USA, to an American father and a Japanese mother, Daniel grew up in Okinawa, Japan, from the age of two.
He learnt tattooing and Japanese carving when he was a teenager, and later became interested in Western carving and taught himself a wide range of tattoos styles and tattooing techniques.

He also spent four and a half years training as a Buddhist statue sculptor at a Buddhist statue sculpture studio in Kyoto. The sensitivity and artistry he acquired there is reflected in every detail of his tattoos.

In 2012, he opened Tattoo Studio Ray’s in Kyoto. He has a wide range of tattooing styles, from Japanese to Western, black and grey, tribal and Chicano, and as of 2022 he has a large clientele, including both Japanese and non-Japanese.

He is the best in Japan at white tattooing in particular, with his advanced techniques and wealth of experience.
He has a unique, mild-mannered and friendly personality, but his uncompromising workmanship has earned him the trust of his clients.

Currently, he is not only a tattoo artist, but also a tattoo artist and apparel designer, working on the apparel brand “RAYS” from TATTOO STUDIO Ray’s.
